VACCINE PASSPORTS, THE TIME IS NOW ONTARIO!i by Wayne Johnston

 Ontario must have vaccine passports, the time is NOW! Gee, go figure, BC announces COVID passports, vaccinations go up 200%. What happened to “We don’t know the long term impacts, hundreds of thousands, millions, billions, gazillions have had adverse side effects, blood clots, grown two heads, died and had their penises fall off?”


It’s ok my ultra-right wing FB friends (by in large anti-vaxxers), trust me, the needle doesn’t hurt. I truly hate the things, having “blood work” terrifies me, my veins are hard to find. I’ve had open heart surgery and all kinds of other surgeries. Had to walk around with an anti-biotic/pain drip for a week after a motorcycle accident. After heart surgery, I had to have at home blood work for 6 weeks. I have well over 30 vaccinations in my Health Canada Vax Reg book. Being a soldier for forty-one years will do that.

I just hate them, no I loathe them, I have a bit of a phobia, I could sure live without them. Ahh but I can’t can I? Not these days. So, I look the other way, grit my teeth as the nice lady laughs and says all done.

I know I’ve been hard on you anti-vaxxers. Consider it tough love, yeah you piss me off… but I actually like some of you and, sadly, I’ve lost friends over this. As for the rest of you, the great deluge in FB shire, I’ve seen this monster up close.

I am double dosed, but I remain vigilant. However, I have seen relations get ill, very ill. Thankfully, they are alive and made it as they were younger. One in particular incredibly fit chap now has lifelong serious medical repercussions. Trust me, it’s a bit like being on a death watch, praying they are not put on a ventilator. Simply a horrible way to die, alone, gasping for breath, full of regret…

I’m speaking sincerely to the, what I call, soft anti-vaxxers. Clearly there seems to be a plurality of you, the anti-vaxxer club. Do what I have to do every time, and it’s quite often,… I put my big boy pants on and get ‘er done.

Truly out of the well over 30 vaccinations, not including hospitalized injections, the COVID shot, both times, was quite tame. I had slight chills the first time and a sore arm, second time… easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

I know most of you will say whatever, or give me push back… That’s just fine. More sooner, rather than later, the gravity of the COVID Heath crisis impacting society will strike Jupiter and Stupider aka Ford and Kenny. As sure as the Toronto Maple Leafs will not win the Stanley Cup next year and for the foreseeable future.

Canada will have COVID passports/registers coast to coast, in the very near future. How many of you will actually hold out or join the Christmas rush?

Why not shop early, avoid the Christmas rush, those crazy line ups and the parking.

See I’m really a softy at heart. At the end of the day having seen and experienced the grief of death far too many times as a Repatriation Officer, the pain of Fathers and Mothers, Spouses, children and the losses of a son, daughter, grandchild, spouse, father/mother is soul destroying. While I was there in a professional capacity, I felt but a small fraction that the aforementioned did.

Ok now for my perennial question: what is Doug Ford doing? Is he using the six brain cells he processes or is he going to show that he has no actual real-world sense of the impact of the delta variant numbers currently rising at an alarming rate? Will he continue to show that he has zero grasp of the magnitude of the consequences of a no-COVID passport situation?

What is “our Premier” going to do? If he fails to impose safe, wise measures, in particular a COVID passport, then the people of Ontario need to throw him out of office.

Moving forward, once other provinces issue passports to those vaxxed to the max, any Ontarians who are vaccinated and contract the Delta variant, need to take legal action against the Government of Ontario. I suspect Alberta and Ontario will hold out to please the base. This is political grandstanding and pandering at its worst, most certainly borderline if not criminal negligence.

It might be time to conduct a campaign targeting MPP’s focusing in on PC MPPs and Goldilocks himself. Phone, email, write, carrier pigeon, whatever it takes. If you are in media, or know media, let’s get the message out so that the vast majority of people in Ontario demand COVID passports.Anything less is simply unacceptable.

Let’s make it so uncomfortable and hot for the government of Ontario, and Goldilocks, that they will fold like a house of cards. I don’t think we, the vast majority of decent Ontarians, are asking for much. In fact, it’s a rather modest demand.

Last time I looked it is priority job number one for government, at all levels, to see to the well-being and health of the citizens. Yes, deliberate anti-vaxxers are also citizens, but they act as lone riders who care nothing for the public good as they deliberately chose not to be vaccinated. These people wish to be exclusive and special with zero regard for anybody but themselves, spreading dangerous falsehoods and giving life to COVID-19 with their sleeping with the enemy. Gallivanting about unfettered as they selfishly wish to be inclusive as it suits them. Hardly model citizens.

I wonder where in history Goldilocks will fall? Will it be the right side or the wrong side? Will he finally grow be a leader and make the absolutely right, sound, wise decision and impose COVID passports? Or will he whimper and snivel as usual, hoping to appease his Trumpian base? Bears repeating, hardly model citizens.

i While it seems that events have overtaken the concern that Wayne has detailed – It looks like Mr. Ford, or some representative, will be announcing some form of Covid Vaccine passport today, we are going ahead with the publication since, it his dilly dallying in this case is very similar to his dilly dallying pattern in so many important actions in his handling of the pandemic, indeed his dilly dallying on almost all issues related to the the public good. – CP&R Eds.
